Fishery Notice

The Area F ITQ chinook troll fishery is hereby closed effective at 23:59 hours 
August 4, 2017.

VO #:2017-NCTR-01 is hereby revoked beginning at 23:59 hours, August 4, 2017.


The fishery will be closed for parts of August to reduce impacts on passing 
WCVI chinook stocks of concern.  The Department will be reviewing catch data 
and the estimated harvest rate of WCVI chinook as via the Effort Harvest Rate 
Management Tool during early August for consideration of reopening in late 
August or early September.  

Vessels masters are reminded that they must have sufficient chinook ITQ prior 
to retaining chinook.  All Requests for Temporary Reallocation of chinook ITQ 
Holdings received after the close of the fishery will be denied. 

Vessels participating in the ITQ chinook fishery must have all species 
validated at offload within 5 days of the closure.
