Survey results and Shrimp Survey Bulletin 17-01 is available for West Coast 
Vancouver Island Shrimp Management Areas (SMA) 23IN, 23OFF+21OFF, 124OFF and 
125OFF (Areas 23, 121, 123, 124 and 125). Copies of the bulletin are available 
on request from Dan Clark 250-756-7327 or Dan.Clark@dfo-mpo.gc.ca.

The estimated total biomasses for pink shrimp in SMAs 124OFF and 125OFF are in 
the Critical Zone so these areas will not open.

SMAs 23IN and 23OFF+21OFF will open July 19 and will remain open until catch 
ceilings for one of the species has been reached. Observer coverage is required 
for 20% of the effort.
