Opening 00:01 July 14, 2017 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs): SUMMARY: 14E03, Qualicum Beach Variation Order No. 2017-357 Note: See Fishery Notice No. FN0660 Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing. DETAILS: GMA 14E03, Qualicum Beach: That portion of Subarea 14-4 to 1.5 nautical miles offshore southeast of a line drawn due northeast off shore at an unnamed point at 49 degrees 22.142 minutes north latitude, 124 degrees 29.135 minutes west longitude. NOTES: North Coast and West Coast Vancouver Island areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2017/18 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs.
