Area F Troll UPDATE

CHINOOK
The 2017 Area F Troll chinook TAC is 108,500 pieces, and will be managed to the
maximum 3.2% exploitation objective on WCVI chinook using an Effort / Harvest
Relationship Management Tool. Approximately 105 vessels are currently
participating in the opening and CPUE has increased to 35-40 chinook per vessel
per day over the last 5 days. The estimated total catch as of July 5 is 53,000
chinook which is 49% of the Area F Troll TAC. The estimated harvest rate of
WCVI chinook is 1.0% as estimated by the Effort Harvest Management Tool.

COHO, PINK
The A-B Line Coho Fishery opened July 1 (FN0572) with retention of coho and
pink salmon. The main Dixon Entrance targeted Coho Fishery is scheduled to
open July 10 (FN0590). The total catch to date is estimated to be 2,700 coho
and 1,000 pink.

NOTE FOR VALIDATION DURING CHINOOK ITQ FISHERY

Vessels that have retained chinook and are landing salmon are required to
validate all species in their catch that are regulated under Part 1 of their
Area F Troll Conditions of Licence. For clarity, vessels are not permitted to
offload coho only without validation if they have chinook on board the vessel.
Vessels must phone JO Thomas & Associates (JOT) at 1-888-624-2646, the day
prior to landing, to arrange validation. Calls must be made between 7:00 AM and
5:00 PM.
