FN0592-COMMERCIAL - Salmon: Troll - Area H - 2017 Mandatory Reporting Requirements


In-season activity and catch reporting is a mandatory requirement under the 
2017-2018 Area H Salmon Troll Conditions of Licence.  This information is 
important for in-season management of the fishery.  Fishery monitoring and 
catch reporting continues to be a fundamental priority for fisheries 
management. Failure to comply with the 2017-2018 Area H Salmon Troll Conditions 
of Licence, in particular those sections specific to activity and catch 
reporting will be a priority for enforcement action.

A summary of mandatory harvest log and reporting requirements while fishing for 
salmon, as stipulated in the 2017-2018 Area H Salmon Troll Conditions of 
Licence, are as follows:

Report Type - Reporting Deadline - Action

Start Fishing - Before starting a fishing trip - Phone AMR/E-Log

End Fishing - Within 24 hours after end of fishing trip - Phone AMR/E-Log

Cancel Fishing - Within 72 hours after intended start - Phone AMR/E-Log

Pause Fishing - Before 08:00 hours the day after no fishing occurred or prior 
to landing of catch - Phone AMR/E-Log

Daily Catch Report - Prior to 08:00 hours the day after fishing or prior to 
landing of catch - Phone AMR/E-Log
                           
Note: Daily Catch must be recorded in the harvest log for each day fished prior 
to 08:00 hours the day after fishing and before any fish is landed. Daily Catch 
Report Confirmation Numbers must be recorded on the Daily Catch Record page in 
the harvest log for each day fished. For paper harvest log users, all report 
confirmation numbers are acquired by phoning AMR. E-log users must digitally 
transmit this information to the Salmon Fishery Database using a properly 
encoded electronic mail message.
