Opening 00:01 June 23, 2017 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs): SUMMARY: 16B01, West Lasqueti Island Variation Order No. 2017-332 Fishery Continues: 16A02, West Texada Island -Favada Point to Dick Island 16A03, West Texada Island -Dick Island to S end of Texada Island 16B02, Northwest Lasqueti Island 16B03, Scottie Bay to West Point 16B04, West Point to Tucker Bay 16B05, Tucker Bay to Young Point Variation Order no. 2017-298 Note: See Fishery Notice No. FN0569 Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing. DETAILS: GMA 16B01, West Lasqueti Island: A portion of Subarea 14-3 inside a line drawn from the junction of Subareas 14-3, 14-6, 16-20 and 16-21, then to 49 degrees 28.315 minutes north latitude, 124 degrees 22.511 minutes west longitude, and then southeasterly within 1.5 nautical miles of the Lasqueti Island shoreline. NOTES: North Coast and West Coast Vancouver Island areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2017/18 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs.
