Fishery Notice

Request for amended licence conditions to participate in the Offshore West 
Coast Vancouver Island (PFMA 124 and 125) Shrimp by Trawl Fishery will now be 
accepted through the National Online Licensing System (NOLS). 

For the 2017-18 fishing season several new in-season management programs have 
been introduced for vessels wishing to fish within PFMA 124 and 125.  New 
reporting and data delivery requirements are outlined in the new amended 
conditions.  Vessels wishing to fish in PFMA 124 or 125 this fishing season 
must arrange for amended licence conditions. 

Only vessels planning to fish within PFMA 124 and 125 this season need to apply 
for amended conditions.   Any vessel not planning to fish within PFMA 124 and 
125 this season is encouraged not to apply for amended conditions.  Original 
licence conditions issued with the 2017/18 licence will cover all requirements 
for other shrimp management areas open in the fishery (except PFMA 124 and 125).

Licence eligibility holders will use the National Online Licensing System 
(NOLS) to go online to submit the request to amend the licence, and print their 
commercial fishing licence, and amended licence conditions to participate in 
the Offshore, PFMA 124 and 125 Shrimp by Trawl fishery.

Prior to licence replacement a request to amend the licence to participate in 
the Offshore PFMA 124 and 125 Shrimp by Trawl fishery must be submitted via 
the 'Submit a Request' menu selection within the NOLS. Full instructions can be

Upon the Department receiving and approving the NOLS request, notification will 
be sent via email to advise licence eligibility holders that a change has been 
made to the licence holder's online account.  The licence documents, Offshore, 
PFMA 124 and 125 Shrimp by Trawl licence conditions will then be available to 
be printed at that time.
