FN0537-SANITARY - Seasonal Sanitary Closures for Bivalve Shellfish in Area 2
Seasonal sanitary shellfish closures are in effect from June 15, 2017 to September 15, 2017 in Area 2 as a result of recommendations from the Pacific Region Interdepartmental Shellfish Committee. Seasonal Closure 2.A Kunghit Island - Rose Harbour: The waters and intertidal foreshore of Kunghit Island lying inside a line drawn from Moore Head to the northernmost point of Charles Island at 52°09.35' north latitude and 131°03.82' west longitude, thence to the northernmost point of Annette Island at 52°09.42' north latitude and 131°04.46' west longitude, thence to the northernmost point of Ellen Island at 52°09.44' north latitude and 131°05.60' west longitude, thence westerly along the intertidal foreshore to the westernmost point of Ellen Island at 52°09.32' north latitude and 131° 05.96' west longitude, thence to the Quadra Rock light, thence southwesterly to Hornby Point. [NAD 83] June 15 - September 15 Seasonal Closure 2.B Hot Spring Island: The waters and intertidal foreshore lying between a line drawn from the northernmost point of Murchison Island to Andrew Point on Ramsay Island and a line drawn from the southernmost point of Murchison Island to a point of land at 52°33.51' north latitude and 131°26.36' west longitude on Ramsay Island. [NAD 83] June 15 - September 15 Seasonal Closure 2.C Port Langford to Forsyth Point: The waters and intertidal foreshore of an unnamed bay on Moresby Island lying inside a line drawn from Point Langford westerly to Forsyth Point. June 15 - September 15 Seasonal Closure 2.D Ross Island: The waters and intertidal foreshore of Moresby Island and Ross Island lying inside a line drawn from a point of land at 52°09.72' north latitude and 131° 06.55' west longitude to a point on Ross Island at 52°09.52' north latitude and 131°06.96' west longitude, thence northwesterly along the intertidal foreshore to a point on Ross Island at 52°09.84' north latitude and 131°07.50 west longitude, thence northeasterly to a point on land at 52°09.99' north latitude and 131°07.23' west longitude. [NAD 83] June 15 - September 15 Seasonal Closure 2.E South of Louscoone Point: The waters and intertidal foreshore of an unnamed bay on Moresby Island lying inside a line drawn from a point of land at 52°07.36' north latitude and 131° 14.42' west longitude thence easterly to the southernmost point on the unnamed island at 52°07.43' north latitude and 131°14.04' west longitude thence northeasterly to Louscoone Point at 52°07.69' north latitude and 131°13.96' west longitude. [NAD 83] June 15 - September 15 Seasonal Closure 2.F Louscoone Inlet West The waters and intertidal foreshore of an unnamed bay on the western shore of Louscoone Inlet lying inside a line drawn from a point of land at 52°08.64' north latitude and 131°14.62' west longitude thence northeasterly to a point of land at 52°08.90' north latitude and 131°14.34' west longitude. [NAD 83] June 15 - September 15 Seasonal Closure 2.G Louscoone Inlet East The waters and intertidal foreshore of an unnamed bay on the eastern shore of Louscoone Inlet lying inside a line drawn from a point on land at 52°07.30' north latitude and 131°11.62' west longitude thence northwesterly to a point of land at 52°07.46' north latitude and 131°11.71' west longitude. [NAD 83] June 15 - September 15 Seasonal Closure 2.H Swan Bay The waters and intertidal foreshore of Swan Bay on Burnaby Island lying inside a line drawn from Smithe Point thence northeasterly to a point on the unnamed islet east of Swan Island at 52°20.08' north latitude and 131°17.36' west longitude thence northwesterly to a point of land at 52°20.73' north latitude and 131°17.65' west longitude.
