The commercial Prawn and Shrimp by Trap fishery will close coast-wide for the balance of the year effective 19:00 hours Monday, June 12, 2017. Spawner Index Sampling will continue to the end of the season. Vessel Masters are reminded to provide assistance to the observers. Fishery continues until 19:00 hours June 12, 2017 for all species of shrimp, including prawns, by trap gear in the following areas: Subareas 1-1 to 1-5 and 1-7; Subareas 2-1, 2-5 to 2-100; Subareas 3-1 to 3-5, a portion of 3-6 west of a line from Reservation Point to Quottoon Point, 3-7 to 3-18; Subareas 4-1 to 4-9 and 4-12 to 4-15; Subareas 5-1, 5-3 to 5-15, 5-17 to 5-22 and 5-24; Subarea 6-1, 6-3 and 6-5 to 6-28; Area 7-1 to 7-8, 7-10 to 7-26, 7-29, 7-30; Area 8-1 to 8-12, 8-15 and 8-16; Subareas 9-1, 9-2, 9-5 to 9-8, and 9-10; Subareas 10-1 to 10-5 and 10-12; and Areas 101 to 110, 130 and 142, excluding Bowie Seamount Marine Protected Area, Hecate Strait and Queen Charlotte Sound Glass Sponge Reefs Marine Protected Area, the Gwaii Haanas National Marine Conservation Area Reserve, and Haida Heritage Site. Variation Order Number 2017 - 315 is revoked 1900 hours June 12, 2017. Areas and Subareas are described in the Pacific Fishery Management Area Regulations.
