Opening 00:01 May 13, 2017 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs): SUMMARY: 12C01 False Head North Variation Order No. 2017-268 Note: See Fishery Notice No. FN0432 Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing. DETAILS: GMA 12C01, False Head North: 1. A portion of Subarea 12-9 west of the intersection of a line commencing at the unnamed point at 50 degrees 44.058 minutes north latitude, 127 degrees 24.550 minutes west longitude and running due east to the Subarea 12-16 boundary, thence to Pulteney Point on Malcolm Island; 2. A portion of Subarea 12-16 south of a line drawn due east at the unnamed point at 50 degrees 44.058 minutes north latitude, 127 degrees 24.550 minutes west longitude to the Subarea 12-16 boundary. NOTES: North Coast and West Coast Vancouver Island areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2016/17 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs.
