LICENSING INFORMATION CT, USA68, and SEC68 Tuna: 


CT Tuna (Canadian Waters):
--------------------------

For those eligible vessels that held a 2016 category CT licence (tuna in 
Canadian waters) the 2017 $30 licence fee is available for payment in the 
vessel's National Online Licensing System (NOLS) account. If you cannot see the 
licence or the fee for payment, please log onto the NOLS and 'Submit a Request' 
for 'Licensing Services Not Listed Above' (full instructions available at: 
http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/sdc-cps/products-produits/request-demande-
eng.htm) 

To obtain issuance of a CT licence, log onto your National Online Licensing 
System account:

Where appropriate, select the account (vessel name/organization) that holds the 
licence you are wishing to 'Submit a Request' for and click on 'Select';

Select Request Type - 'Licensing Services Not Listed Above';
In the 'Comment' box please enter the following information:
Vessel Master Details:  First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth 
Vessel Name
Vessel Registration Number (VRN previously known as CFV);
Vessel based Licence Eligibility for CT: ___ ___ 2017(i.e. AT 123 2017)

Once you have completed all the details of your request - click on the 'Submit' 
button at the bottom of the screen - your request is assigned a unique number - 
and we will receive/process and respond with a follow-up comment in your NOLS 
account.

Please check your Request Status periodically (click on Request #) to view our 
response;
Once your request has been approved the $30 licence fee will be available for 
payment in the vessel's NOLS account;
Please pay the fee in order to invoke the licence issuance process.

As per Conditions of Licence, all tuna vessels must meet the monitoring 
requirements for the tuna fishery, including submission of harvest logbooks and 
compliance with hail requirements. 

The industry selected service provider to arrange monitoring services for 2017 
is the Canadian Highly Migratory Species Foundation (CHMSF), 4829 Maplegrove 
Street, Victoria, BC, V8Y 3B9, (250) 658-0179. 

Please contact the CHMSF to arrange for purchase of logbook, data keypunching, 
hail, data transmission and other services prior to fishing for tuna.


USA68 Tuna (USA Waters):
------------------------
As per the current fishing regime under the Canada/USA Pacific Albacore Tuna 
Treaty, the U.S. EEZ will be accessible for albacore fishing and port access 
for USA68 licence holders on the eligibility list (numbers 1-45) from June 15 
to September 15, 2017.

The list of authorized USA68 vessels will be posted online at:
http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/commercial/pelagic-pelagique/tuna-thon/index-
eng.html

As per Conditions of Licence, all tuna vessels must meet the monitoring 
requirements for the tuna fishery, including submission of harvest logbooks and

Navigate and select 'Pay Fees';

Where appropriate, select the account that holds the licence you are wishing to 
renew and click on 'Select';

Select the USA68 licence fee and pay the fee to request licence issuance Fees' 
(full instructions available at:

Navigate to 'Submit a Request' menu selection (full instructions available at: 
http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/sdc-cps/products-produits/request-demande-
eng.htm);

Where appropriate, select the account (vessel name/organization) that holds the 
licence you are wishing to 'Submit a Request' for and click on 'Select';

In the 'Comment' box please enter the following information:

Vessel Name
Vessel Registration Number (VRN previously known as CFV);
Licence Number for USA 68:  USA68 ____ 2017

Once you have completed all the details of your request - click on the 'Submit'

Sec68 High Seas Tuna (International Waters):

To request that a Sec68 High Seas Tuna Application be made available to you:

a. Via the Vessel's NOLS account: Submit a Request, Licensing Services Not 
Listed Above;

b. Via email:fishing-peche@dfo-mpo.gc.ca (Specify Pacific Region in subject 
line);

c. Via telephone: 1-877-535-7307 (specify Commercial Fishing in Pacific Region).

As per Conditions of Licence, all tuna vessels must meet the monitoring 
requirements for the tuna fishery, including submission of harvest logbooks and 
compliance with hail requirements. 

The industry selected service provider to arrange monitoring services for 2017

LICENSING SERVICE CHANGES - NOLS REGISTRATIONS:
--------------------------------------------------

1) In-person counter service at Pacific Fishery Licence Units was suspended on 
September 1, 2013. Access to licensing services is available via the National 
Online Licensing System (NOLS). All fish harvesters are required to pay their 
2017 licence fees through NOLS. 

2) If you need help registering, or if you have registered but have forgotten 
your username and/or password, client support is available via the contact
