FN0328-COMMERCIAL - Herring - Roe - North Coast - Prince Rupert - April 4, 2017 Update
Area 4 - Big Bay Dive Survey - Royal Pride: March 29 South spit south of Tree Bluff averaged one layer with a 400m - 1300m spawn width. Transect just south of spit averaged layers 3 with a 600m spawn width. A macro bed with a width of 300m-400m on either side of spit averaged out to one layer. March 30 Survey from south of Tree Bluff past slippery rock layers thinned out to Japanese point with an average of one layer with a 300m-400m spawn width. South of Japanese point spawn improved to 2-3 layers with a 90m-400m spawn width. March 31 Bad weather SE 25-35 work was isolated to Big Bay with an average of two layers from Simpson point to Curlew rock. (50m-300m spawn width). Past Curlew into Salmon Bight trace spawn with a 50m-400m spawn width. April 1 Surveyed from Salmon Bight to Belletti point trace spawn inside swallow island. Swallow island to Shattock pt showed improvement with between two and three layer average. (70m-400m spawn width). Shattock pt to Belletti pt averaged under one layer. (60m -400m spawn width).
