FN0311-SANITARY - Amendment to Emergency Closure off the West coast of Denman Island, Baynes Sound, Subarea 14-8 which includes BC Land Registry Shellfish Aquaculture Tenure #1402060 - Closed for Oysters Only


Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for oysters from BC 
Aquaculture Tenure Land File #1402060 in Subarea 14-8, until further notice. 
This includes the transfer of oysters to or from BC Aquaculture Tenure Land 
File #1402060. Due to potential contamination, the Pacific Region 
Interdepartmental Shellfish Committee agrees a closure is warranted for oysters 
at this land file until further notice. The area is open for direct harvest of 
all other bivalves, subject to being open based on Biotoxin status.

The waters and intertidal foreshore of BC Land Registry aquaculture tenure # 
1402060, Subarea 14-8, off the West coast of Denman Island in Baynes Sound, 
inside a line drawn from a point in water at 49°33.06' north latitude and 124°
50.73' west longitude, thence northeasterly to a point in water at 49°33.09' 
north latitude and 124°50.63'west longitude, thence southeasterly to 49°32.98 
north latitude and 124°50.55' west longitude, thence northwesterly to 49°32.95' 
north latitude and 124°50.64' west longitude, thence back to the point of 
commencement.
