Central Coast Bulletin #25 March 30, 2017: The Proud Canadian worked through the Thompson Bay area before moving south towards Cultus Sound. They will be working in the Mustang Bay area today and then moving back towards Spiller Channel. The Franciscan No.1 worked the Lower Mathieson Channel area yesterday, and into the outer Seaforth and Lower Spiller channel areas. They will be remaining in the area today, before heading back into Bella Bella. The Franciscan completed a test this morning near Wootton Islet. The gill net charter Three Girls 2 continued their sounding program in lower Spiller Channel yesterday, before moving over towards Powell Anchorage and Reid Passage. They will be working in Moss Passage and back into outer Seaforth Channel today. This is the last day of their charter. The gill net charter Star King continued their sounding program in the Thompson Bay and Stryker Island area today, before heading back up towards Gunboat Pass. They will be working through Gunboat Passage and back towards Spiller Channel today. The spawn flight yesterday observed fresh spawn in Clifford Bay and Kitasu Bay. The most active predator sightings were around lower Spiller Channel to Ivory Island. Several whales and many sea lions were observed in the area. The next spawn flight is scheduled for Friday, March 31, weather dependant.
