Fishery Notice

Under agreement with the Gitga'at First Nation, Fisheries and Oceans Canada 
is closing Area 6 for the food, social and ceremonial harvest of  Butter Clam 
(Saxidomus gigantea)for the Gitga'at First Nation only.  The product may be 
contaminated given the deviance from the sampling requirements established 
under the biotoxin monitoring program.
