TOTAL STRAIT OF GEORGIA: 70,000 tons

The seine fishery in the Strait of Georgia closed March 16. Catch estimate is 
9,695 tons of the 13,013 ton quota.

The roe herring gill net fishery has been open since March 4. The hailed and 
validated catch estimate is 10,000 tons of the 15,171 ton quota. 

The test vessel Denman Isle is assessing Area 17; the last day of charter for 
this vessel is Tuesday March 21.  

Total miles of spawn to date are approximately 47 NM. The next spawn flight is 
planned for Wednesday March 22, weather permitting.
