Haida Gwaii Herring Update #4
March 20, 2017 
 
TEST CHARTER
The charter vessel Queens Reach transited over to the west coast of Haida Gwaii 
at the end of last week.  The Queens Reach has completed work in Port Louis and 
Port Chanal and is currently transiting south towards Rennel Sound.  The test 
charter is expected to return the Haida Gwaii Major Stock Assessment Area after 
March 23.

HAIDA AFS PATROL
The Haida Fisheries Program deployed the Haida Guardian late last week. The 
Haida Guardian is currently patrolling Skincuttle Inlet. 

SOUNDINGS/TEST RESULTS:
NOTE: Sounding information is not a complete representation of herring biomass 
and only represents a subjective estimate of what was observed by the test 
vessel.

NFF - No Fish Found
Washed out spawn - Spawn that is coming to an end
