Central Coast Bulletin #15 March 20, 2017: The Proud Canadian moved from the Kitasu Bay area back to the East Higgins area yesterday, and was able to perform a test set this morning. They will continue working in the area today and moving back towards the Lower Mathieson area. The gill net charter Three Girls 2 continued their sounding program yesterday working through the Norman Morrison area before moving through to Thompson Bay. They will be heading north into Spiller Channel today. The CCGS Vector was also in the Boddy/Joassa area yesterday, and are moving south into the Kwakshua Channel area today. The first spawn flight for the Central Coast has been delayed, as weather conditions have not been suitable. It will be proceeding this afternoon. No spawn has been reported. Harvesters are reminded that the earliest seine fishery was March 11, and spawn timing is similar to the North Coast where fishing has commenced.
