FN0236-ABORIGINAL and COMMERCIAL - Herring - Roe - Areas 6 to 10 - Central Coast - Update March 19, 2017

Central Coast Bulletin #14
March 19, 2017:

The Proud Canadian moved into the Kitasoo Bay area yesterday, and remained in
the area until the evening when they were able to conduct a successful test
set. They are planning on moving back into Area 7 today; however their route
will be weather dependant.

The gill net charter Three Girls 2 continued their sounding program yesterday
working through the Dundivan Inlet area before moving towards Troup Passage.
The CCGS Vector was in East Higgins area working with the Proud Canadian before
heading towards the Bella Bella area. The Three Girls 2 will be rendezvousing
with the Vector today before heading into Thompson Bay. The Vector will be
heading south towards the Spitfire Island area.

The first spawn flight for the Central Coast has been delayed, as weather
conditions have not been suitable. No spawn has been reported. Harvesters are
reminded that the earliest seine fishery was March 11, and spawn timing is
similar to the North Coast where fishing has commenced.

Area 10 - No signs of herring were observed on a survey flight in Smith Inlet
performed yesterday.
