North Coast Herring Update March 18, 2017: Area 4 - Big Bay Fishing continues. See Fishery Notice FN0228 for details. Area 5 - Kitkatla The charter vessel Franciscan No. 1 continued sounding in Kitkatla yesterday. They were able to conduct a test set yesterday morning near Coquitlam Island. No spawn has been reported. Strong winds are hampering assessment operations. Assessment continues. The seine fleet is requested to stay out of the area until advised otherwise.
