Catch estimate on hails and validations is 9,690 tons of the 13,013 ton quota. The roe herring gill net fishery has been open since March 4 and has been active on the NE Side of Hornby Island yesterday and today. The hailed and validated catch estimate is 9,660 tons of the 15,171 ton quota. The test vessel Denman Isle is assessing Area 17 today and tomorrow, weather is hampering assessment. No significant stocks and no tests from Area 15. Total miles of spawn to date are approximately 46 NM. The next spawn flight is planned for Saturday March 18, weather permitting.
