Sanitary/Other Contamination Closures
Subject:
FN0206-SANITARY - Area 12 - CHEMICAL Contamination Emergency Closure for Bivalve Shellfish in a portion of Subarea 12-2

As a result of reports of a diesel spill in Port Harvey, the Pacific Region
Interdepartmental Shellfish Committee (PRISC) has reason to believe the quality
of bivalve shellfish in the area may be compromised. Although the entire
subarea (12-2) is prohibited for harvest due to an existing biotoxin closure,
this action is deemed an appropriate precaution within a portion of Pacific
Fishery Management Area 12 until further information can be obtained and
assessed.

Emergency Closure 12.jj - Port Harvey
