Opening 00:01 Hours March 10, 2017 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs). An asterisk indicates a change in area description since the last rotation: SUMMARY: PRA01 Duckers Island PRA02 Surf Inlet Variation Order No. 2017-190 in effect. PRA08 Clifford Bay North Variation Order No. 2017-191 in effect. The north coast fishery continues in the following GMAs: None. Note: See Fishery Notice No. FN0194 Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO. Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates can change at any time please confirm the required Pacific Fisheries Management Subarea is open prior to fishing. DETAILS: GMA PRA01, Duckers Island: That portion of Subarea 6-10 east of 129 degrees 15 minutes west longitude and north of 52 degrees 55 minutes north latitude. GMA PRA02, Surf Inlet: 1) Subarea 6-12 and 2) that portion of Subarea 6-10 east of 129 degrees 15 minutes west longitude and south of 52 degrees 55 minutes north latitude. GMA PRA08, Clifford Bay North: That portion of Subarea 6-13 south of 52 degrees 37.6 minutes north latitude, north of a line from the south tip of Babbage Island at 52 degrees 35.18 minutes north latitude, 129 degrees 9.57 minutes west longitude due west to the surfline, east of a line from the southern tip of Babbage Island to a point on the island to the south at 52 degrees 35.08 minutes north latitude, 129 degrees 09.47 minutes west longitude and north of a line from 52 degrees 34.72 minutes north latitude, 129 degrees 09.01 minutes west longitude, east to the opposite shore on Aristazabal Island at 52 degrees 34.72 minutes north latitude, 129 degrees 08.85 minutes west longitude. NOTES: South Coast areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2017/18 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through geoduck beds and GMAs.
