Fishery Notice

Catch targets and gear allocations have not yet been finalized for the Central 
Coast Area. When this information is available, the following process will be 
used for determining gear allocations, subject to further advice from the 
Herring Industry Advisory Board:

CENTRAL COAST AREA:
----------------------------------

Currently 227 roe herring by seine and 1,208 roe herring gill net licences have 
selected an area (PRD or SOG) and elected to participate in the roe herring 
fishery.

The Central Coast (CC) Total Allowable Catch (TAC) will be allocated on a 
percentage share basis (by gear type - Seine and Gill Net) to those licences 
that have elected to participate in the roe herring fishery (both PRD and SOG). 

Seine licences will be allocated a 0.4405286 percentage (%) share of the 
allowable area TAC for CC seine.

Gill net licences will be allocated a 0.0827815 percentage (%) share of the 
allowable area TAC for CC gill net.

Participation and (Pool total) Quota allocation will be based on the Pools as 
they are currently formed for both gear types in PRD and SOG.

There will not be a separate process to select the Central Coast Area and form 
Pools in order to participate.

Further information regarding catch targets and gear allocations for roe 
herring will be provided via fishery notice, when available.
