Fishery Notice

Please note the following recently revised dates for the 2017 Roe Herring 
Fishery: 

2017 Roe Herring Gill Net and Seine Area Reselection will take place today 
Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 12:00 to 16:00 hours.

Please note: Ideal and current Entered numbers for Gill Net and Seine licences 
below. Note for licence holders that have not yet submitted an area selection 
request, Area Reselection on February 16, 2016 will be the final opportunity 
for submission of your area selection request, and you will need to follow all 
the rules of Area Reselection as noted below.

Central Coast (CC) gear and catch targets have not yet been determined. Further 
information regarding CC fishery opportunity, gear and catch targets will be 
provided by Fishery Notice when it becomes available.

* The original "ideal" licence number for Strait of Georgia of 236 has been 
revised by the number of licences that have selected Food and Bait for that 
area. The quota for these licences has been removed from the roe quota at 61.68 
tons per licence. No licences selected Food and Bait for Prince Rupert Area, 
and the quota for this area remains the same. 

AREA RESELECTION PROCEDURES/RULES:
---------------------------------

Area reselection for gill net and seine licences will take place today 
Thursday, February 16, 2017 starting at 12:00 hours and closing at 16:00 hours.

1.  Area reselections are accepted on the Area Selection Request form 
write RESELECTION at the top right, cross-out the original area selected with a 
single line, and check-off the new area.  

2.  The reselection request must be sent either by e-mail or fax only - (in- 
person drop-off of area reselection requests will not be accepted):

3.  Requests will be prioritized by the time-stamp that they were received.

4.  Requests received prior to 12:00 hours or after 16:00 hours will not be 
processed.

5.  Once the ideal numbers for an area are achieved, that area will be closed 
for area reselection.

6.  Requests for a licence to enter in an area that is over-subscribed will not 
be processed. Reselection will only be permitted from over-subscribed areas to 
under-subscribed areas. 

7.  The results of area reselection and final area counts will be announced by 
fishery notice.

POOL DESIGNATION LISTS:
--------------
Both gill net and seine pool designation lists are required to be submitted by 
the deadline of Friday, February 17, 2016 at 16:00 hours. 


PRINT LICENCE DOCUMENTS - Once pools and quota numbers are finalised, Licence 
documents, which will include Conditions of Licence, Pool list and Quota will 
be available for printing in your NOLS account. The target date is February 22, 
2017. Print all of the licence documents as instructed and attach to licence.
