Fishery Notice

This notice amends FN0556 to correct the gear requirements in the "Notes" 
section.
	
As announced in FN0549, the Department is implementing management measures 
consistent with zone 2 management (i.e. returns to the Fraser between 45 and 85 
thousand chinook) for Fraser Spring 5-2 and Summer 5-2 chinook.

Accordingly, the following actions will be in place:

Cariboo River
-------------

Effective July 25, 2015 to August 16, 2015 on the Cariboo River, from the 
confluence of the Quesnel River to the confluence of Seller Creek, you may 
retain one (1) chinook per day with a fork length less than 77 cm. You may not 
retain chinook with a fork length greater than 77 cm. 

Chilko River
------------

Effective July 25, 2015 to August 16, 2015 on the Chilko River, from Chilko 
Lake downstream to boundary signs approximately 1.5 km upstream from Siwash 
Bridge (12 km upstream from Chilcotin River junction), you may retain one (1) 
chinook per day with a fork length less than 77 cm. You may not retain chinook 
with a fork length greater than 77 cm.

Quesnel River
-------------

Effective July 15, 2015 to September 1, 2015 on the Quesnel River, downstream 
of Poquette Creek, you may retain one (1) chinook per day with a fork length 
less than 77 cm. You may not retain chinook with a fork length greater than 77 
cm. 

The minimum fork length for chinook in non-tidal waters is 30 cm.

Notes:

Single barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in non-tidal waters 
of British Columbia. 

Barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in tidal waters and non-
tidal waters in British Columbia. 

Sport anglers are encouraged to participate in the Salmon Sport Head Recovery 
program by labelling and submitting heads from adipose fin-clipped chinook and 
coho salmon.  Recovery of coded-wire tags provides critical information for 
coast-wide stock assessment.  Contact the Salmon Sport Head Recovery Program 
toll free at (866) 483-9994 for further information.

If you're going fishing for salmon in non-tidal (fresh) waters, you need a Non-
Tidal Angling Licence, issued by the Province of British Columbia.  Visit the 
provincial website to buy your licence. Licences are available to B.C. 
residents and non-residents. Fees may vary and are listed online.
