Fishery Notice

The Ahousaht, Ehattesaht, Hesquiaht, Mowachaht/Muchalaht and Tla-o-qui-aht 
First Nations salmon demonstration fishery by troll will open from 00:01 hours 
July 18 until 23:59 hours August 31, 2015, or close earlier if the total 
allowable catch of 500 chinook has been reached. 

The areas open only to vessels 25 feet in length or less are:
	
A portion of Subarea 25-4 northwesterly of a line beginning at a boundary sign 
on Bligh Island near 49°39.732'N and 126°28.815'W then drawn northeasterly 
across the channel to a boundary sign on the opposite shore near 49°40.181'N 
and 126°28.166'W.excluding Hisnit Inlet, Head Bay and Nesook Bay 

that portion of Area 25-6 contained within the following boundaries:

Bounded in the south west by a line commencing at a point on the Nootka Island 
shoreline located north of Friendly Cove, at 49° 35.946 N. , 126° 36.848 W. to 
Discovery Point on the opposite shore of Nootka Sound; and
bounded in the northwest by 1) a line drawn between Boston Point to Salter 
Point and 2)a line commencing from the northern most tip of Strange Island due 
east to a boundary sign on the opposite shore of Tahsis Inlet. 3) A line 
commencing from Hoiss Point to San Carlos Point. 4) A line from a navigational 
light at the Southwest tip of Clerke Peninsula on Bligh Island southeast to a 
flashing red light on Vancouver Island of the on the opposite shore of Zuciarte 
Channel at 49°35.737'N and 126°31.288'W 

Area 25-7

Fishing shall be permitted with single barbless hook gear only.
Incidental catch of coho and chum may be retained. Sockeye and steelhead that 
are caught while fishing under the authority of this licence may not be 
retained. 

A vessel designated to harvest fish shall be identified by an Identification 
Number and by affixing a clearly visible Identification Flag.  Designations to 
partake in this fishery must accompany the participant while fishing or 
transporting fish harvested in this fishery. 

All fish caught in this fishery are to be landed at the designated landing 
sites: 
Gold River Government Dock
Mid Island Ice Plant, Zebalos
Packing vessel - "The Drifter" - CFV 24970
All participants must obtain a Landing Slip in order to sell any fish caught 
under the authority of this licence. All fish sold in this fishery must be 
accompanied by a Sales Slip. 
 
Fisheries and Oceans Canada is interested in reports of sea turtles in BC 
waters.  By documenting sightings we are able to learn more about how, when, 
and where these turtles are using our waters.  If you see a sea turtle, please

include information such as the type of sea turtle seen (i.e. leatherback), the 
location, and time of sighting.
