Fishery Notice

Registration of Packers for the 2015 Area B and H Fraser River sockeye and pink 
fishery.

Packers wishing to accept Fraser River sockeye and/or pink salmon from Area B 
seine and/or Area H troll vessels must register with DFO as much in advance of 
the fishery as possible by contacting Christine Bukta at 250-286-5888 or 
Christine.bukta@dfo-mpo.gc.ca. Early registration is essential for planning for 
this fishery and does not preclude the packer from withdrawing at a later date.

Companies registering packer vessels must provide the following information:

Company Name;
Vessel name and VRN number;
Vessel master;
Company contact person; and
Contact information (i.e phone number, fax, email address)

Packers must have the total catch validated by shore-based validation. Packers 
accepting sockeye and/or pink salmon from Area B seine and/or Area H troll as 
well as Area D gill nets must keep the gill net fish (non-ITQ) in separate 
identifiable holds.  Packers will need to hail-in to the service provider prior 
to the landing of any fish. Packer personnel will be responsible to record data 
on validation forms provided by the service provider and perform hold checks.  
Packer personnel must ensure that individual vessel catch numbers are phoned or 
faxed in to the service provider on a daily basis.
