FN0399-COMMMERCIAL - General Information - Electronic Logbook Program 2015

Pursuant to FN0202 sent March 16 2015, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is 
currently developing its national standard for electronic logbooks (E-logs). 
DFO is expecting to release its standard to external service providers within 
the upcoming months.    

For the 2015 fishing season, harvesters who want to continue using the existing 
E-Log Pilot can do so by contacting M.C. Wright and Associates Ltd. to obtain 
further information.  This company will be providing support and programming 
services for the E-log Pilot until DFO publishes its national standard.

DFO wants to reiterate that use of the E-log Pilot is voluntary and that 
harvesters are responsible for any associated financial costs.  Fishers who do 
not wish to use the E-log Pilot still have the option of using paper logbooks.
