FN0557-Pink: Amendment to FN0527 - Region 2 - Squamish and Tributaries - (change to daily limit, open times and areas)


This notice amends FN0527 released on July 24, should read:  


Squamish River (including Ashlu, Elaho, Cheakamus Rivers and
Powerhouse Channel) the retention of Pink salmon will only be
permitted until 24:00 Sept 3. Effective immediately - the
daily limit is reduced to 1 per day.

Mamquam River (upstream of the BC Rail Bridge) - No fishing for pink
salmon.

This reflects a change to the BC Freshwater Salmon Supplement. The

Variation Order No. 2001-333.

This action is taken to address decreasing returns of pink salmon and
to protect them once they reach advanced stages of spawning. This
action is supported by the local Sport Fish Advisory Committee.
