TOTAL STRAIT OF GEORGIA: 70,000 tons, assessment incomplete.

The seine fishery was active near Chrome Island today with 300 tons caught, and 
one small set kept near Nanaimo. The hailed and validated catch for the seine 
fishery is approximately 7,000 tons of the 15,440 ton quota.
 
For the gillnet fishery the estimated gillnet catch is approx 2,700 tons of the 
13,975 ton quota. 

The spawn flight departed Nanaimo at 10:00 hours this morning
French Creek to Parksville Bay: 4.0NM heavy (new)
S end of Qualicum Beach: spot spawn
Qualicum Beach to Little Q: 1.9NM
Between Little Q and Big Q: there was 5.0NM of light to medium spawn
Bowser to Maple Guard Point: 2.1NM washed
Boyle Point to Metcalf Bay: 2.1NM of new spawn, medium
Upper Bayne Sound:spot spawn just north of Union Point (new) 
Willemar Bluff:0.2 NM medium
Cape Lazo: 0.6NM
Little River to Kitty Coleman: 4.9 nm washed out
Sandy Island: .3NM (new)
East side Tribune Bay 0.4NM and Downes Point was a spot spawn (new)
