FN1219-Licensing Information - Pacific Region Licence Appeal Board - All Areas - Meeting
The next PRLAB meeting is scheduled for January 6th and 7th, 2015. Submissions for appeals must be received no later than Monday, December 8th, 2014. The Pacific Region Licence Appeal Board (PRLAB) is an independent advisory body that hears individual appeals from fishers who are requesting an exemption from Licencing rules and policies. The Board makes recommendations directly to the Minister for a decision. The PRLAB will only hear appeal requests resulting from a licencing decision by the Resource Manager, Licencing within the past two years. The PRLAB does not make decisions on licence policy, and is strictly an advisory body to the Minister regarding exceptions to licence policy. However, the Board may provide advice to the Minister on policy which the Board feels should be amended. Should you wish to submit an appeal or would like any further information on the Board please contact Andria Charette, PRLAB Liaison Officer, Pacific Region Licence Appeal Board, Fisheries & Oceans Canada, 200 - 401 Burrard Street Vancouver, BC, V6C 3S4, andria.charette@dfo-mpo.gc.ca or at (604) 666-1640. If you have already submitted an appeal, you will be contacted shortly to arrange an appointment time. If you have not been contacted with a confirmation of your appointment time by December 8th, 2014, please contact Andria Charette at the above mentioned number at your earliest convenience. Individuals and/or associations who wish to submit information for the review and consideratzlion of the PRLAB, may do so by providing a written submission to either the appropriate fishery Resource Manager or to the PRLAB Liaison at the address above. Any submissions received by Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 will be provided to the PRLAB for review. Information regarding specific appeals will not be made available.
