FN1156-AQUACULTURE - Shellfish - Rainfall warning in effect for Sunshine Coast
Please be advised that a rainfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada for the Sunshine Coast as per the link below: http://weather.gc.ca/warnings/index_e.html?prov=bc This is a warning that intense rainfall events resulting in flooding, sewage collection systems overflows and/or occurring after prolonged dry weather periods can adversely affect marine water quality and result in temporary emergency shellfish harvesting closures. Shellfish harvesters are advised to monitor weather conditions and warnings, and to plan their harvesting activities accordingly. 11:01 AM PDT Tuesday 21 October 2014 Rainfall warning in effect for Sunshine Coast Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Heavy rainfall with amounts up to about 60 mm expected as a Pacific frontal system moves through the area tonight. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
